7th Annual Forum of the EIT Urban Mobility Doctoral Training Network
Addina Shafiyya Ediansjah and Jonas Krombach represented the faculty at the 7th Annual Forum of the EIT Urban Mobility Doctoral Training Network (DTN), held in Tartu, Estonia, from 11–13 June.
The annual forum brought together PhD candidates from across Europe to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in urban mobility research. Hosted by the Mobility Lab of the University of Tartu, the event provided a platform for scientific exchange, professional development and international networking.
This year’s programme featured keynote sessions on topics including the 15-minute city concept, cross-border mobility and urban data governance. Participants also presented their research through PhD poster sessions and took part in collaborative urban mobility experiments across Tartu.
A highlight of the event was an excursion to Tallinn, where attendees visited the rapidly developing Ülemiste campus and learned about the Rail Baltica project, one of the most ambitious transport infrastructure initiatives in the Baltic region. Cultural activities, including traditional Estonian dance performances and a sauna evening, complemented the scientific programme and encouraged informal exchanges among participants.
Following the annual forum, two specialised workshop courses offered participants the opportunity to deepen their methodological skills. Addina Shafiyya Ediansjah attended the workshop “From Data to Design: Using Big Data for Active Mobility Research”, while Jonas Krombach participated in “Qualitative Methods in Urban Mobility Research”.
