Sebastian Dengel received the award for his master’s thesis, titled “Identification of Trip Patterns in e-Scooter Origin-Destination Data Using Cluster Analysis,” in which he examines the analysis and evaluation of mobility data in the shared mobility sector. The thesis contributes to the collection, storage, and analysis of large volumes of real-time traffic data and, ultimately, to the further development of data-driven traffic planning for sustainable urban mobility.

Since 2020, the award has recognized outstanding undergraduate, thesis, and doctoral dissertations at TU Dresden that address the future-oriented topics of sustainability, the circular economy, and digitalization. The award comes with a prize of 1,000 euros. In addition to Sebastian Dengel, two other graduates from the Faculties of Mechanical Science and Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering were honored for their theses.

The award ceremony took place on June 25 at the Lausitz Industrial Park in Schwarzheide.
